Bantwal, Mar 15: People of as many as five villages staged protests on Tuesday opposing the supply of drinking water only to Ullal Municipal Council limits through Sajiman Noor Bahugram drinking water project, Alady.

The protesters said that they will not allow the supply of drinking water anywhere without its supply to local villages. They threatened to intensify protests if their demand was not met.

Nagarika samithi members were present.
