Bengaluru, Jun 13: The Konkani Samudai, Bengaluru organised the 285th Wilfy Nite, on June 9 at the Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road here.
This most desired night mesmerised Mangalurean Konkani music lovers of Bengaluru with an added spicing, the popular ‘Private Challenge’ by the Walter Nandalike and Arvind Bolar duo.
The Wilfy Nite was based on a unique concept which had a story line with a theme ‘Muji Baas Konkani’ and all the songs were connected by storytelling, to suit the theme along with theme dance. Beautiful visual background of the coastal region on the LED not only made it look like a real story but also took people back to their motherland. It was truly a mesmerizing experience.
After the event, ‘Konkan Myna’ Meena Rebimbus, wife of the legend, the late Wilfred Rebimbus was honoured by Konkani Samudai along with Daijiworld media founder Walter Nandalike and ‘Tulunada Manikya’ Arvind Bolar.
Senior artistes like Comedy King Dolla (Adolphous Coutinho), well-known singers Ivan Sequeira, Babitha D’Sa and musicians Pappan and Joswin too were honoured for their relentless service in the field of Konkani music and entertainment industry.
The programme began with a welcome address by the president Vinod Titus Monteiro. The association also honoured two young achievers, Sweezal Furtado and Jewel Lasrado for their achievements in beauty pageant and as a music lyricist, composer and singer respectively.
Secretary Disleen D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Royston Pinto compered the official programme.
