Beltangady: Mescom relocates electricity pole after young woman's electrocution

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Jun 29: The Mescom department has relocated an electricity pole responsible for the electrocution of Pratiksha Shetty on Thursday evening at Shibaje Bargula.

An online delivery worker, who had arrived to deliver a parcel to Pratiksha, stood at the road’s edge due to the high water flow in the nearby trench. Had he crossed, he might have also lost his life.

The high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) lines that transport electricity from the Dharmasthala substation to electrical transformers at Shishila pose a significant danger.

Villagers believe that if Mescom had properly maintained these lines, Pratiksha's tragic death could have been prevented. They have urged Mescom to relocate additional electricity poles along the same route to prevent further incidents.
