The policemen had been checking the vehicles moving through Race Course Road near Race View Hotel in the city on Wednesday night, when they found three kilograms of gold in biscuit form and Rs 41 lac in cash being transported by three persons in an auto rickshaw.

The three are of Coimbatore but they failed to produce any records relating to gold and cash found in their possession, the policemen said. The trio was bound for Coimbatore when the auto rickshaw in which they were travelling was intercepted.
