Bantwal, Aug 22: A youngster from Ajjibettu near B C Road here, who had gone missing since some days, was found to have committed suicide at Mumbai. The deceased is Pradeep (19), son of Virupaksha and Kariyamma couple.

Pradeep and his parents are natives of Hassan district. Pradeep used to help his mother to sell helmets and sun glasses in their make-shift shop located near the main circle at B C Road. Since sometime, the family was living in a rented home at Ajjibettu here.

It is said that Pradeep was pestering his mother since sometime to buy a motor bike for him, but she steadfastly refused this demand. Frustrated at this denial, Pradeep had gone missing from his home on August 11. His parents, who failed to find his whereabouts and did not get any communication from him for over a week, finally filed missing complaint on Tuesday August 19 at the town police station here.

On the next day, the police got information that Pradeep had committed suicide at Mumbai. This information was conveyed to the family, and the youngster's parents have left for Mumbai to claim his body, the policemen said.
