Indian women's hockey team to try new combinations

New Delhi, March 24 (IANS): Indian women's hockey team captain Ritu Rani said on Tuesday that they are working on various game-plans with the coaching staff and experimenting team combinations ahead of the Hawke's Bay Cup to be played in New Zealand from April 11 to 19.

The team is currently under going a preparatory camp at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here which will go on till April 7.

“Presently we are working on our game-plans and various strategies to counter the opponents. We are watching videos of them, how they have performed in the recent past, plus our videos where we have played against them and where we lacked while playing against them," said Ritu.

"Based on the videos we have started working on our play and team coordination. Our major focus is penalty corner coordination and variations. We are confident of the series ahead and will take it as an opportunity ahead of the Hockey World League Semi-Final in June this year.”
