Mangalore: Account Books Disappear From Co-operative Society

Mangalore, Sep 7: After Muttoor Milk Producers Co-operative Society of Kuppepadav village near here reported, that its cash book and general ledger had gone missing, people have started suspecting foul play.

It is reported, that auditors had begun checking the accounts of the society for the last two years, from August 28 onwards. The above books handed over to them. The auditors had left that day, promising to come again to complete the auditing. After they came again on Thursday September 4 and demanded for these two books, the society found that the cash book and general ledger had become untraceable.

It is said, that the society ex-secretary Ravi had visited the society on Auguswt 31 evening, on the pretext of searching for his lost identity card. Society president Kochanna Alva has since filed a missing complaint with Bajpe police station.
