Udupi, Sep 9: Like other forms of literature, medical literature has its own style and it consists of the necessary nutrients needed to own a proper way of life. As such, medical literature is a form that people from all walks of life have to necessarily read, opined Dr H S Mohan from Sagar. He was speaking after accepting the 'Akalanka' award conferred on him for his book, 'Kannu-Hosanota', at a funtion organised at the Nutana Ravindra Kalamantap of MGM College here on Sunday September 7.

Kannada literature is now full of varieties and every reader has a wide choice of books. People need to look at medical literature not just because of academic interest, but as a form of literature, he demanded.

Senior orthopaest of KMC Hospital Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar handed over the award and unveiled the work. District Sahitya Parishat president Ambatanaya Murdradry and MGM college principal Dr Jayprakash Mavinakuli were present. Obstretrician Dr Savitri Daitota introduced the work, 'Kannu-Hosanota'. Akalanka Foundation chairman Dr Uppangala Rama Bhat welcomed. Shankari Rama Bhat proposed vote of thanks.
