Beltangady, Sep 13:  Ujire SDM College principal and Karnataka History Academy Conference reception committee vice-president Dr B Yashovarma informed that the 22nd national-level conference of Karnataka History Academy will be held in Dharmasthala from September 18 to 21, under the joint aegis of SDM Dharmothana Trust and Ujire SDM Autonomous College.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday September 12, he informed that book stalls and exhibition relating to history, archaeology, research, ancient inscriptions and publications, will be arranged during the conference, at Vasant Mahal, by the side of the conference site.

Presentation of 150 research essays, release of four new works, feature films on practical excavation, felicitation of 11 scholars, exhibition of photographs of monuments, felicitation of those who have secured doctorate in history, felicitation of P Anantraj Indra who successfully conducted the programme, 'save historical traditions' campaign and Dr P N Narasimha Murthy from Udupi who is a historian, release of a memorial work titled 'Itihasa Darshana' etc., have been lined up for the programme, he said.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate the conference at 5 pm on the 18th of this month. Indian born Dr Vasundhara Philiyosa, renowned historian from France, will preside. Dr K K Jain from New Delhi will be the chief guest.

Karnataka History Academy president Dr Sooryanath Kamath will inaugurate the book stalls and book exhibition. Prof S Prabhakar will unveil new works, while Dr Lakshman Telgavi from Hampi Kannada University will release the issue of 'Itihasa Darshana'.

Professor of history from Mysore University Dr A Sundar will deliver valedictory address at the concluding programme to be held at 12 noon on 21st of this month.

Head of the department of history of the college Dr Y Umanath Shenoy, Dharmothana Trust secretary A V Shetty, Bhaskar Hegde and Dr L N Swamy were present at the press conference.
