Udupi: Jaycees Week at Kaup Concludes

Udupi, Sep 17: The concluding ceremony of Kaup Jaycees Week was held on Monday September 15 at Narayana Guru Auditorium, Kaup, near here. Ashit Kumar, zonal vice- president,Jaycees Club International (JCI), was the chief guest on the occasion.

He distributed prizes to winners of various competitions held during Jaycees Week. Entrepreneur Bhaskar R Mendon conveyed his best wishes on the occasion. Vinay Katpady, former president, Kaup–JCI, felicitated eminent folk researcher and senior journalist K L Kundantaya, Nadaswaram exponent Baban Saheb, progressive farmer Gopal Kundar, home guard and artiste Yogendra Suvarna, BSNL officer N V Prabhu, and social worker Sadanand Kaup, by awarding them with 'Kamala Patra' awards.


Jagdish Bangera, president, Kaup JCI, presided over the programme. Sukalakshi J Bangera, president,Jayceerettes, was also present. Arun Shetty Padoor, director, Jaycees Week, read the names of the winners of various competitions.

Assistant director Rakesh Kunjoor  read the Jaycees Week report. Secretary Rajendra B K proposed vote of thanks. Kaup–JCI former president Vinay Kumar, Deepak Kumar Yermal, Uday G, Sudhakar Salian, Jagdish Acharya, and Nilanand Nayak, were also present.

District level movie–dance competitions in the group and solo categories were held afterwards. Smart Boys, City Guys, and Prashant and group of Kadiyali, bagged the first, second and third prizes, respectively.
