Dubai: Children Outshine Adults at Amchigele Samaj's Talents Day

Dubai, May 23: Inspired by the grand success of the 4th annual day celebrations on December 19, 2008, the UAE Amchigele Samaj, an organization of Gowd Saraswat and Saraswat Konkani-speaking people, celebrated its 4th Talents Day on May 22 in the Karama Centre, Dubai.
 
Samaj president Ramachandra Hegde welcomed the audience and urged all the contestants to do their best. Joint secretary Anil Nayak then introduced the judges. The judges for the show were Sarvottham Shetty, Lakshminarayan Murthy, Gopi Kamath, Sadhana Mallya, Sabitha Shenoy and Veena Shanbhogue.

















There were overall 110 entries under various categories. The categories in which the competitions for the children were held were, Fancy Dress, Story-telling, Singing and Elocution. Karaoke singing competitions were held for male and female under the adult category which also had competition under the category of "Chaar Ghadi Hasoon Kaadi" which was based on the lines of Laughter Challenge. The 300-strong audience enjoyed the performances of the children who showed great confidence in coming up on the stage and performing without even a trace of nervousness.
 
Pragati Shenoy along with Veena Hegde, Mohan Kamath and Sunil Shenoy anchored the event.
 
 Samaj's vice-president Shailesh Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks wherein he specially thanked the parents for their efforts in preparing the children for these competitions.

Each participant child was given a medal for taking part and the winners were given prizes and certificates. The programme ended with dinner being served to all those present.
