Mangalore: St Antony’s School. Fermai Celebrates I-Day with Patriotic Spirit

Mangalore, Aug 16: The 63rd Independence Day was celebrated at St Antony School, Fermai near here on Saturday August 15.

President Richard L Monteiro hoisted the Indian tricolour. The chief guests Daijiworld Weekly Editor-in-chief Stephen Mascarenhas, correspondent Francis Cutinho, trust president Philomena Cutinho principal Vincent Kiran Moras and headmistress Anjalen Moras accompanied him. Soon after flag hoisting, students rendered the flag song. 






























Speaking on the occasion, Monteiro said that our country was steadily progress to become a developed nation soon. The centre and state government through various development schemes and policies are ensuring that India reaches the heights of greatness in the near future, he said.

Chief guest Mascarenhas shared his experiences with the children. He also motivated the children to pray adding that children’s prayers will always be answered by God.  

On the occasion, students also exhibited their extra-curricular skills with physical exercises, rendering patriotic songs and cultural variety programmes for entertainment. The programme was compered by Seema Lobo.
