Mangaluru: St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu holds Mission Sunday celebration, Mudipu Premier League

Mangaluru, Oct 24: The St Joseph Vaz Parish, Mudipu celebrated the Mission Sunday and Mudipu Premier League(MPL) on October 23.

In the morning, there was a celebration of the Holy Eucharist and there was a special offertory collection by priests themselves for the mission and people brought various things for auction.

Immediately after the mass, there was an auction wherein, all the parishioners participated actively showing their interest in the mission followed by breakfast. After this, the Mudipu ICYM unit conducted a special a mega event called MPL which means Mudipu Premier League. Fr Assissi Rebello, parish priest, Fr Rony Pinto, assistant parish priest, Naveen D'Souza (vice president), D Irene Veigas (secretary), Santhosh Deepak D'Souza (animator of Mudipu ICYM) and Br Pranay Pereira OCD were present for the inaugural programme.

Some of the generous hearted parishioners stood as sponsors for this event. First of all, there were spot games in different categories followed by cricket and throw ball matches. In all, seven teams consisting of different parishioners participated in underarm cricket and three teams of different parishioners participated in throw ball.

The event was a big success with the help of sponsors and the hard work of the members of the ICYM Mudipu unit headed by Prithesh Tellis (ICYM president) and Veekshitha D'Souza (ICYM secretary). The event ended at 6:30 PM.
