Mangaluru, Oct 24: The Nitte Solid Waste Management Plant was inaugurated by Dr.Rajendra Kumar K V, past deputy commissioner, Dakshina Kannada, in the divine presence of Ekagamyanand of Ramakrishna Math at Nitte University Paneer Campus, Deralakatte.

N Vinaya Hegde, chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) was the chief guest. Captain Ganesh Karnik, former MLC was the guest of honour. Nitte (Deemed to be University) vice chancellor Dr.Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, registrar Dr Harsha, Dilraj Alva, managing director, Mangala Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. were also present on the occasion.

In his inaugural address, Dr Rajendra K V said, "Solid waste management is a complex issue. It will be successful only through a sense of service. I appreciate the effort of Nitte University. Managla Resource Management for setting up this plant.

Swami Ekagamyanandji of Ramakrishna Math Mangaluru, praised the initiative of Nitte University to start Waste Management Plant within the University Campus which reflects his concern for cleanliness. Chancellor N Vinay Hegde in his brief speech appreciated the excellent work done by Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan. Captain Ganesh Karnik welcomed the gathering. Dilraj Alva proposed a vote of thanks. Smitha Shenoy compered the programme.
