Brahmavar: Family on pilgrimage - Thieves decamp with gold worth Rs 1.48 lac

Brahmavar, Nov 14: Thieves entered a house at Govimala, Hosala village, Barkur in the taluk in the intervening period of November 11 and November 13 and took away gold ornaments worth Rs 1.48 lac.

Vijendra Kumar (59), complainant had gone to Tirupati pilgrimage on November 11 morning and returned on November 13 at 2 pm.

The complainant saw that the latch of the front door is opened and the lock of cupboards inside the house is broken. The thieves took a gold rope chain weighing 28 gram worth Rs 58000, a gold chain weighing six grams worth Rs 12600, two gold bangles weighing four grams each worth Rs 51400, a finger ring weighing four grams worth Rs 8400 and ear rings weighing eight grams worth Rs 16800. The total value of stolen ornaments is Rs 1.48 lac.

Brahmavar police have registered a case and are probing further.
