CM promises to build 2,000 classrooms in Kalyana Karnataka this year

Kalaburgi, Nov 14: A total of 2,000 classrooms will be built in the Kalyana Karnataka region this year, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has promised in Kalaburgi on Monday.

Speaking to media persons at the Kalaburgi airport, the Chief Minister said the State Government is constructing a total of 8,000 classrooms in the entire State and the northern Karnataka or Kalyana Karnataka region will get 2,000 classrooms.

Bommai said the State Government has decided to accord priority to the Kalyana Karnataka region, as it is lagging in basic infrastructure facilities.

The State Government has released Rs 250 crore for the repair of all government primary and secondary schools and it will be completed by August 15 next year.

The Chief Minister said the State Government has given approval for the recruitment of 15,000 school teachers this year. The second phase of recruitment will be given approval next week.

He said his government has accorded priority for solving the infrastructure problems in the education sector.

The New Education Policy, which is presently being implemented in the State in colleges and high schools, will be extended even to the primary education sector. Simultaneously, the government is solving all the problems including lack of infrastructure facilities and teachers, he said.

The Chief Minister attacked the Congress leaders for giving a saffron colour paint to the school buildings and pointed out that it was part of the national tricolour. Swamy Vivekananda was a monk, who was keen on giving good and moral education to students, which must be a priority of all parents as well.

He later laid the foundation stone for building Viveka Governmnt Higher Primary School Classroom construction work at Madihal Tanda of Kalaburgi taluk

Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, Industries Minister and Kalaburgi district in charge minister Murugesh Nirani, MLC Shashil Namoshi, MP Dr Umesh Jadav and Kalyana Karnataka Area Development Authority Chiarman Dattatreya Patil Revoor were among the dignitaries present.
