Udupi: District police organizes annual sports event

Udupi, Nov 17: District Collector Kurma Rao M said that participation in sports activities is very important to de- stress and maintain good health for police personnel who work under pressure every day in the service of the public.

He was speaking at the inauguration of district police annual sports event at Ajjarakadu Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium today.

He said that participation in sports must be done enthusiastically as the police have a busy schedule discharging their duties and participation in such activities would help them relieve from their stress as well as exhibit their talents.

He further said that engaging in sports would also enable them to discharge their duties efficiently and keep them healthy both physically and mentally.

District police superintendent Hakey Akshay Mcchindra said that in this sports event, separate competitions are organized for personnel above 50 years of age and rural sports like mud run and special competition for police crime detection department and DAR have been organized.

DAR’s Jivan arrived with Kreeda Jyothi. DAR sub-inspector Adarsha Devanna Nayak administrated the oath of office.

District Police Superintendent Hakey Akshay Mcchindra welcomed, ASP Sen station police inspector Manjunath anchored the event and Siddalingappa felicitated.

Udupi, Karkala, Kundapura, DAR, women police team participated in the sports event.
