Bantwal: Kambala has received hi-tech touch now – Asranna Krishnaprasad Acharya

Bantwal, Dec 17: The traditional Kambala sport that was started by farmers with the support of kings in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district has received h-tech touch. The historic Hokkaligoli Kambala has special religious significance, said Asranna Krishnaprasad Acharya of Poonja temple. He was speaking after inaugurating historic Hokkadigoli Veera – Vikrama Jodukare Bayalu Kambala that began on Saturday, December 17.

Poonja temple management committee president Rathnakumar Chowta presided over the programme.

Young doctor of Siddakatte, Dr Sudeep Jain, cooperative society president Prabhakar Prabhu, district panchayat former president M Tungappa Bangera, Arambodi gram panchayat former president Jagatpal Shetty Umanottu, Kukkipadi gram panchayat vice president Yogish Acharya conveyed their wishes.

Kambala committee honorary president Sanjiva Shetty Gundyaru, honorary advisor Babu Rajendra Shetty Ajjady, Kiran Kumar Manjila, chief convener Rajesh Shetty Konerottu, treasurer H Harish Hingani, secretary Pushparaj Jain Nadyodi, organizing secretary Hariprasad Shetty Kurudadi and others were present.

Kambala committee president Nonaluguthu Rashmit Shetty Kaitrodi welcomed. Honorary advisor, advocate Suresh Shetty gave an introduction. Publicity committee convener Mohan K Sriyan Rai and Dinesh Suvarna compered the programme.
