Bengaluru: KSRTC increasing infrastructure facilities for E-bus service

Bengaluru, Dec 20: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), which is planning to introduce E-bus services, is making all attempts to increase the fundamental infrastructure required for the same.

KSRTC is giving stress to increase facilities at Bengaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Virajpet, Madikeri, Davanagere, Shivamogga and Kempegowda bus terminal (Majestic). First E-bus will run between Bengaluru and Mysuru.

In the first phase of the project buses will run between capital and Madikeri, Virajpet, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere and Shivamogga.

KSRTC MD Anbu Kumar said, “Due to Covid pandemic, we could not procure more buses. We have ordered 50 electric buses under adoption and manufacturing project of Hybrid and electric vehicles.

“First bus is expected to reach us shortly. We will start operations towards the end of December. Electric buses will be delivered in phases. We will get 10 buses once in every two months.

“Charging stations are under construction at Majestic, Mysuru and Virajpet bus stations. Work related to the same is in progress at Madikeri, Davanagere, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru depots also,” he said.
