Udupi: Adani Foundation undertakes infrastructure development works at Mudarangadi

Udupi, Dec 20: Adani Foundation undertakes infrastructure development works at Mudarangadi gram panchayat: Kick started concreting of 3 roads at a project cost of Rs 15 Lac under its CSR.

Adani Group owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited, which is operating thermal power plant at Yellur village in Kaup Taluk in Udupi district, in hands with Adani Foundation, today performed Bhoomi Pooja for development of three kachcha roads in the limits of Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat.

The three kachcha roads identified by Mudarangadi GP under its yearly action plan, are taken-up for execution of concreting of roads by Adani Foundation under Community Infrastructure Development initiatives of Adani CSR. Bhoomi pooja was performed by Kishore Alva, Adani Group’s president and Yogini Shetty, president of Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat.

Speaking on the occasion, Alva informed that UPCL had committed to Mudarangadi GP to take-up development works worth Rs 4.65 crores in phased manner based on the yearly action plan of GP. As on date, Adani Foundation has executed infrastructure development works worth Rs.3.77 crores in addition to the various social development works under its CSR. He told that UPCL, after taking over by Adani Group, has averagely spent more than Rs 5 crores every year for the past 7 years under CSR.

Yogini Shetty told that these 3 roads are very kachcha roads making difficult for the villagers to use. Now, with Adani taking it up for concreting would be sign of relief to the villagers, Yogini informed. She welcomed and thanked Adani Foundation for its contribution to the society development.

Panchayat members Ravindra Prabhu, Shivaram Bhandary, David D’Souza and UPCL’s DGM Ravi R Jere and Adani Foundation’s Anudeep were present on the occasion.
