Bantwal, May 26: Baby Kunder, the Bantwal block Congress president urged the police to take suitable legal action against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja for falsely accusing chief minister Siddaramaiah of murdering 24 Hindu workers.

In his complaint Baby Kunder said, “In the victory procession meeting that was held on May 22 at Beltangady, Harish Poonja made false and derogatory accusations against CM Siddaramaiah of killing 24 Hindu workers. In addition, through inciting speech, Poonja tried to hatch a plot to create unrest in the communally sensitive place of Bantwal, which is near Beltangady. He has also damaged the stature of CM of Karnataka Siddaramaiah.

“Through his false propaganda and derogatory use of words against Siddaramaiah, Poonja attempted to bring unfaithfulness and unbelief against the chief minister of a state among the public.

“The accusations made by MLA Harish Poonja in a public meeting are clear violations of the constitution of India and IPC. So suitable action needs to be taken against him,” he stated.
