Bangalore, Jul 29: The Karnataka BJP political drama is witnessing interesting developments every moment, and the latest news to reach daijiworld says that CM Yeddyurappa has put forward new conditions before the high command.
Yeddyurappa has told the BJP leaders that Dr V S Acharya or Sadanand Gowda must be made chief minister, with Shobha Karandlaje or Murugesh Nirani as deputy CM. Yeddyurappa reportedly told the high command representatives Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan and Venkaiah Naidu that he will not resign if his conditions are not accepted.
But the high command has turned down his demands and told him very strictly that it cannot accept any of the conditions unless he resigns.
The split group reportedly has 60 MLAs supporting the high command's, claims state medical education minister Y Ramdas.
"We are with the High command, every member of BJP must respect the party policies and discipline. Yeddyurappa must resign, and then talk," he said, and indirectly suggested that Yeddyurappa would be expelled from the party if he does not toe the party line.
"High command's decision is final" he declared.
Shobha Karandlaje also met the high command representatives and discussed the current political situation, it is learnt.
These contradictory statements from state BJP leaders are a clear indication that the BJP is on the verge of a split.
Ironically, the party with difference, BJP, is facing an embarrassing situation today due to Yeddyurappa's defiance.
Aravinda Limbavali, another cabinet minister in the Yeddyurappa government, after meeting with the high command said, "BJP is united, there is no split. Everyone is with the high command, there is no split or differences within the party. Delay in action causes a little problem, otherwise there is no confusion."
