Mangaluru, Oct 6: The undergraduate course inauguration of the Allied Health Sciences – batch 2025-26 was held on Monday at the Father Muller Convention Centre, Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences here.
The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by the lighting of the lamp, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the students.
Dr Sunita Saldanha, allied & healthcare professions, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address, Dr Saldanha expressed her happiness and pride in being part of the event and thanked the institution for the invitation. She shared her experiences as a healthcare professional and narrated inspiring stories about her students. Emphasizing the value of dedication in the medical field, she remarked that healthcare is not merely a job but a continuous research and learning process. She congratulated the students for choosing the right profession at the right time and praised Father Muller College as one of the best institutions for healthcare education.




















The programme was presided over by Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, director, FMCI.
In his presidential address, Fr Lobo highlighted the rich 1045-year history of the institution and stressed the importance of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in healthcare. He encouraged the students to practice their skills with commitment, noting that their contribution to doctors, and doctors’ service to patients, form a vital collaboration in the healthcare system. He also reminded students to always show sympathy and empathy towards patients, which he described as essential qualities of true healthcare professionals.
Fr Dr Michael Santhumayor, administrator, and Dr Hilda D’Souza, principal of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences, were present on the occasion.
The event concluded with gratitude and encouragement, marking a memorable beginning for the new batch of allied health sciences students.
