Mangaluru, Sep 17: Louis J Pinto has been re-elected president of Mandd Sobhann for the term 2015-16.

The 28th annual general body meeting of Mandd Sobhann was convened recently at Kalaangann, in which the annual report and the financial statements were presented, discussed and approved.

The new office-bearers for the year 2015-16 were elected at the first executive committee meeting on September 11.


The office-bearers elected for the new term are:

Gurkar - Eric Ozario
President - Louis J Pinto
Co-ordinator - Stany Alvares
Vice-president - Arun Raj Rodrigues
Secretary - Kishore Fernandes
Treasurer - Clara D’Cunha
Joint secretary - Naveen Lobo
Public relations officer - Victor Mathias

Other members of the committee: Roy Castelino, Ronald Mendonca, Fr Ramesh Naik Bandodkar (all ex-officio), Lawrence D’Souza, Irine Rebello, Rahul Pinto, Sunil Monteiro, Harriet Vidyasagar, Alfred Bennis, Nelson Monteiro, Santosh Shenoy, Lingappa Gowda (Neerkere), Joel Mascarenhas (Attur) and Joy Fernandes (Goa).

    To the best of our judgment, "Mandh Sobhan" complex as well as the concept is one of the "prime attraction" of the display of Konkany culture in Mangalore. It is an unique architectural display where Konkany culture displays regular performances thru theatrical shows or variety entertainments. So much of efforts go into creating so many performances on the stage for the benefit of the public.

    There are so many talented and willing individuals contribute with a selfless attitude with so much of enthusiasm towards Mandh Sobhann and their regular performances. Whenever we read the timely and positive comments of so many people we also notice from a distance there are many who "Disagree" with the comments. We just wonder why? We are a small community with a hand full of talented and creative ideas that we need to support each other and help one another at least by being positive and magnanimous. This is the best way we can encourage our community and pave way for many more good things to happen.

    We thought therefore we shall share these feelings from a distance for the benefit of all of us. Success of our Konkany community is dear to us. This is all that we have back home, our "home sweet home". Thank you.

    Louis - popularly know as Louie has built a good name for himself by dint of hard work, perseverance and determination. As a businessman he has done very well and can be relied upon for any work entrusted to him.
