Mangaluru, Jan 5: Mohammed Faiz Khan, member of Muslim Rashtreeya Manch national executive, called upon all the Indians to live up to the true ideals of the ancient Indian concept of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (world is one family)'.

He was speaking at the 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' programme organized by the Sadbhavana division of Yuva Brigade at T V Raman Pai Hall here on Monday January 4.

"We are lucky to have been born in India. People of all religions are allowed to freely practice their respective religions and also to engage in the kind of worship and perform rites and rituals at their will. Is this opportunity provided in countries like France, Italy, etc?" he questioned. He resented talk of intolerance engaged in by vested interests, in spite of total freedom enjoyed here as compared to countries in the Gulf, Europe etc.

Khan said that those who can say with authority that such and such an information is available in a particular page of Quran or Bhagawad Gita are just informants. "They cannot be called learned men. Because only those who spread the notion of harmonious coexistence as preached in religious scriptures, and unite people, can be called as 'Gyani' or learned men," he opined.

Haji B Abdul Razak, president of Hydros Haji Memorial Trust, said that there has always been close coordination and unbreakable bond of harmonious coexistence between Hindus and Muslims, and blamed political forces of trying to drive a wedge between them. He advised people always to inculcate a feeling that one lives for the other.

Mohammed Mustafa Goltamajalu, a progressive farmer, asked people to live like human beings, taking a cue from the birds and fish which live true to their basic natures, with mutual cooperation.

Guiding force of Yuva Brigade, Chakravarty Sulibele, presided. State convener of the organization, Nityananda, was present. Vikram Nayak presented the programme.
