New Delhi, Nov 5: A ‘chargesheet,’ being brought out by the Congress against the Gujarat Chief Minister, has accused the Narendra Modi-led government of being inimical to the interests of Muslims in the state. It claims that those affected by the Godhra aftermath are even now ‘in the most miserable condition.’
In the 88-page document, the Congress sought to debunk as ‘bogus’ Modi's statements that he is the number one Chief Minister of number one state.
"The desire of Modi to prove that he is a number one chief Minister in India was (and is) as maniacal and authoritarian as his role in provoking one-sided attacks on the Muslims of the state after Godhra,... and involvement of his government machinery in actually facilitating and helping the rioters," it alleged.
Modi chose to project himself as a man of good governance as he needed to change his image from being the "conspirator of organizing the carnage and the ethnic cleansing in Gujarat," the chargesheet, which will be formally released soon, alleged.
