Karkala, Jul 2: 'Vijayeendra Aradhana' special award and 'Vijayeendra Puraskar' honours were conferred on the occasion of the ongoing Vijayeendrateerta Aradhana Mahotsav at Vijayeendra Math auditorium in Kumbhakonam, Tamil Nade, on Tuesday July 1 to distinguished personalities.

Sri Sushamindrateerta Swamiji  of Mantralaya Raghavendra Math and his successor Suyatindrateerta Swamiji, conferred the special award comprising of a citation and cash amounting to one lac rupees, to  Sri Brindavan Seva Trust Coimbatore.

Dr Mohan Alva ,visionary and philanthropist who is also the chairman of Alva's Educaion Founation, was honoured for his contribution to the fields of education and culture while Kannada writer Jayant Kaikini, who got the recognition for his contribution to the field of literature, was also among others who were honoured on the occasion with the 'Vijayeendra Puraskar' on this ocassion.
