Mangalore, Nov 17: M N Rajendrakumar, president of SCDCC Bank and managing trustee, Navodaya Grameen Vikas Trust, will make debut in Kannada TV serial ‘Jogula’, to be produced by him for the channel Zee Kannada.

Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday November 16, he said that the serial will be telecast from November 24 at 8.30 pm from Monday to Friday. The serial is about life in traditional society, wherein the advent of information technology brings in changes.

Vinu Balanja, director of Kannada serial, ‘Preeti Illada Mele’, which was telecast by ETV and had a run of over 500 episodes, is directing this serial. Speaking to media persons, he said that a major portion of the serial will be shot in Bangalore and the rest at Halebidu temple and in and around the city here, he added.

Actors such as Nandini Aryan, Aparna, Manjunath Hegde, B Jayashree, Hiriyannaiah, Nishita, Greeshma, Shantala Kamath, and Madhu Hegde, feature in the serial. New faces from coastal Karnataka will also be given an opportunity, said Balanja.

A group of Kannada serial actors will arrive in Karkala to attend the Women Empowerment Convention and the traditional beauty contest, which will be held from Wednesday November 19 to Saturday November 22. The convention aims at creating awareness about social and economic equality, said Rajendrakumar.

Actors B Jayashree, Aparna, Nandini Aryan, Manjunath Hegde, Siddaraj Kalyankar, Suresh Rai, Nishita, Jyoti, Sundersri, Suresh Mangalore, Madhu Hegde, Greeshma, Shantala Kamath, Vijay, Hiriyannaiah, Suma Dwaraknath, Soumyalatha as well as Vinu Balanja, will be in Karkala on all four days of the convention, he informed.
