Mangalore, Dec 2: The Netravati – Phalguni Jodukere Kambala will be hosted for the second year at the traditional mud-field located in front of ‘Guttinamane’, in the heritage village of Pilikula Nisargadhama.
Preparations are underway for the Kambala or buffalo race here, organized by Pilikula Nisargadhama Society in association with district Karavali Utsav Committee and Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Kambala Committees.
Buffalo races will be held in six categories as it was traditionally done. Gold coins will be presented to the owners of the buffalo teams that secure first and second places in each category. The handlers of the winning buffalo teams will be presented cash awards of Rs 500 and Rs 300 each.
