Mangalore: 'Pannabha Award' for Muralidhar Rao

Mangalore, Feb 1: K Muralidhar Rao will be honoured with the 'Pannabha Award' for his contribution in the field of Bharatanatyam, at a function to be held in the house of Chandrashekar K Shetty of Sanatana Natyalaya on Friday February 6 at 6 pm.

The award, which is in its fourth year of institution, has been set up by Rangabharati, Mangalore in memory of late Panjigudde Narayan Bhat.

A committee comprising of Eshwari Ramakrishna Bhat, M Sudhakar Pai, lawyer, High Court, M M Muchoor M Haribhat and Geeta Saralaya, dance guru, have selected K Muralidhar Rao for the award, under the presidentship of M Mohan Alva, president, Alva's Education Foundation.

S Ganesh Rao, founder president, Karavali Group of Educational Institutions, will honour Rao under the presidentship of U K Kumaranat, resident editor, Vijay Karnataka Kannada daily.

Later, Geeta Saralaya's student Ayana V Raman, will present a dance programme on the occasion, said K V Raman, director, Rangabharati.
