Mangalore: Two Survive Murder Attempts in City

Mangalore, Feb 2: A youth named Irfan Mohammed, owner of A K Beedies Kannur, was assaulted with sharp weapons at around 8 pm on Sunday February 1 at Kannur near here.  He has alleged that Latif, an employee in his firm, had instigated a man named Ziauddin to murder him because of some financial disputes. Irfan, who has suffered wounds inflicted by a sword to his left hand and legs, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital here.

Venkatramana Mallya, president of Trimuti Seva Samiti, was targeted at around 7.20 am near Pinto Bakery on Sunday, by two motor bike-borne youth with sword. Mallya has accused Suhas Shetty, who runs scented sticks business in the premises owned by him, of hiring two men named Satish and Padma to kill him. He says that he earned the wrath of Shetty because of properly guiding the girls working in the scented sticks industry, when they leaned towards wrongdoings.

A case has been registered in Barke police station.
