Madikeri, Feb 2: In a joint operation, policemen from Kodagu and Mysore districts succeeded in finding the whereabouts of the abductors of a youth from Mysore. They arrested the miscreants and released the youth from their clutches on Sunday February 1.

Mohammed, son of Shahjahan, who runs a cloth shop in Devarad Urs Road Mysore, had been abducted by Rakesh, Mahesh Babu and Prajwal from Mysore on the evening of January 31. They had then called Shahjahan over the phone and demanded for the payment of a ransom of three crore rupees for releasing his son.

Shahjahan approached the policemen who in turn, sought help from their Kodagu district counterparts, based upon suspicion that the three might have escaped to that district. The miscreants had kept Mohammed in a hotel room in Kushalnagar. On Sunday morning, they were moving towards Teerthahalli when the policemen of the two districts in a joint operation, intercepted them.

Madikeri rural police have registered a case.
