Madikeri, Feb 3: Pramod Mutalik, founder of Sri Rama Sene, who was arrested by the Kodagu district police in connection with a case relating to a provocative speech he had delivered in Gonikoppal in the year 2003 that was pending in Virajpet court, succeeded as expected, in getting bail on Monday February 2. The judge has asked him to appear in the court again on March 12.

On being produced in the court in the morning on February 2, the judge posted the matter to 3 pm the same day. Considering the bail petition moved by him, the court granted the same.

Mutalik reiterated the Sena's resolve to block efforts to celebrate the Valentine's Day on February 14 and also stage protests against it. "We are Indians and we follow the Hindu culture. We will oppose the celebrations tooth and nail and will not allow it in any part of Karnataka," Mutalik warned.

Mutalik claimed that the policemen chose to register a case against him, even though his speech at the Hindu Samajotsav held at Gonikoppal in 2003 was not at all provocative. He left for Belgaum on the evening of Monday February 2.
