Mangalore, Feb 3: The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord was celebrated on Monday February 2 at 5.30 pm with a meaningful liturgy at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte in the city.

The day is also marked as the World Day of Consecrated Life. Christian faithful gathered at the entrance of the Shrine, where candles were blessed. Dn Stephen Pereira OCD in his introduction highlighted the importance of the day. Later, all those present proceeded to the Grotto of our Lady of Mount Carmel, where the Eucharist was celebrated in open air.

Fr John Sequeira OCD preached a meaningful homily. Later, all the Christian faithful renewed their baptismal consecration. It was followed by the renewal of the religious consecration of all the religious people present. 

Fr George Santhumayor OCD presided over the Eucharistic celebration and thanked the gathering.
