Beltangady, Aug 26: In connection with the case of multiple bodies being buried, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on August 26 carried out a raid on the residence of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi in Ujire for allegedly sheltering accused Chinnayya C N.

The raid was conducted at around 9:20 am under the leadership of SIT investigation officer Jitendra Kumar Dayam. The team, armed with a search warrant obtained from the Beltangady court on August 25, brought along the accused Chinnayya and searched the premises. During the search operation, SIT officials reportedly recovered Chinnayya’s mobile phone.

Reports suggest that Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi had sheltered Chinnayya at his Ujire residence for the past two months. The raid was aimed at seizing materials related to the accused. Simultaneously, the house of his brother, Mohan Shetty, was also searched by another team.

According to SIT sources, the Burude gang’s meetings and planning sessions were often held at Thimarodi’s residence, making it a key location in the investigation.

Recent press conferences, interviews given without masks, and several YouTube videos by vlogger Sameer were reportedly recorded at this very house, further drawing the SIT’s attention. The team expects to secure crucial evidence from the spot.

During the raid, Mahesh Shetty and his supporters were not present at the residence. Police cordoned off the area, while only his son and three women were inside the house at the time.

It is also reported that Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi had been actively participating every year in the Ganeshotsava celebrations held at Kunjarp under his leadership.
