The eight students reportedly failed to attend the classes on Tuesday afternoon. The college management took a decision to suspend them, as they stood on the steps of the college, instead of being in their classes. These students were standing outside, in protest against the Sunday incident. In a meeting of students held on Tuesday in the college premises, the management told the students in no uncertain terms, that acts of indiscipline will not be tolerated and that all the students are expected to concentrate on their studies. The students were informed that the college will not allow caste or religious affiliation to gain entry into studies, and that the incident of Sunday had occurred outside the college premises, and as such, the students were told not to allow it to spill over to the college.

The suspended students not only refused to attend the classes, but also tried to enter the room in which the management was holding a meeting. They have been identified as Mohammed Naufal, Hatim, Imtiaz, Taufiq, Mohammed Farooq, Shihabuddin, Abdul Samir and Yahaya A P, studying in second PU. They have been asked to bring their parents to the college on November 23.

The right decision by the college management. Keep off politics from college campus. Kukkikatte is right in his comments. However one should not forget the Govt. college fiasco on the "Ravana Sena" issue. The poor English lecturer was booked because of the students protest and here the Principal succumbed to the whims of Palemar. Imagine the cheap stunt of a minister.

ATTA DARI ITTA PULI this is the situation of minorities in DK, they get assaulted in public place. for this they should not protest... if they do so they get suspension from the college. fine if they lodge a complaint...no justice, culprits will escape from the hospital with banana peeling easyness. the situation became to the saturation point, eighther fight or resign to their fate. rulers are taking oath that they will stand for justice for all the people irrespective of cast, relegion etc., SATYAKKE, SATYA PRATIJNHEGE BELE ELLIDE?

Being a old student of This high school, now it is a pre-university collage, I want to tell you all pls. do not politise this issue....I know how this collage functions.. and what reputation this collage has... This collage built by the blessings and hard work of noble persons like Mijar Guttu Anand Alwa, Yedapadavu Guttu Jeevandhar Kumar, Kordel Rama Rao, Head Master Vaman Shettigar, Principal Shripal Shetty and many more..and its not a collage, its is a temple of education in the surrounding villiages...I am sure current Management under the guideness of Dr. Mohan Alwa definetely will take the proper action.

Protest could be just to show the unity of students because their fellow students were assaulted. It could have been a disciplined protest if they were non-muslims. But the college management has all the rights to take their action.

Good action by the college management. If such actions of the students of one particular community were permitted, I am sure then there would be division amongst the students. If at all any protest to take place, the students union with all students in its entirity should protest without the feeling of caste/faith and with only one motive of demanding justice and punishment of criminals. Thats it. Let save our religious institutions which are sacred from being communalised.
