Udupi, Apr 7: Para military force, police officers and personnel conducted route marches at various places of the district on Thursday as prelude to the upcoming state assembly elections.
The route march was held at Malpe that falls under Udupi legislative assembly constituency, Kaup market area that falls under Kaup legislative assembly constituency, Bailoor and Karkala town that fall under Karkala legislative assembly constituency and Shiroor that falls under Byndoor legislative assembly constituency.
The route march was conducted to instill confidence and courage among the public. SP Haake said that the route march will be held in other parts in coming days. In the meantime, the police continued checking vehicles at various check posts in the district.
