Bantwal: Woman falls into Netravati river while washing clothes, dies

Bantwal, Apr 20: A woman, who went to the Netravati river for washing clothes, slipped, fell into the deep area and died on Wednesday evening.

The deceased is identified as Ramakku, a resident of Burdu of Barimaru village.

Ramakku belonged to a poor family and used to roll beedies for a living. She resided just by the side of the bank of the river. It is suspected that she must have fallen into the river after losing balance while washing clothes.

Bantwal rural police visited the spot and shifted the mortal remains to Bantwal government hospital for post mortem.
