Bangalore, Sep 2: BJP state unit president and MP D V Sadanand Gowda has ridiculed Congress leader Veerappa Moily's warning of launching 'Operation Hand' as a counter to the BJP's 'Operation Kamala' aimed at engineering defections from other parties. He said that the Congress party in the state is in the intensive care unit at present.

Congress party has not been able to appoint a capable president for the state unit since the last two years. Under these circumstances, the 'operations' it might conduct would be like the surgeries conducted by compounder in place of doctors, he mocked.

If the Congress leaders have the mettle, they should launch the proposed operation within the next 15 days and prove their worth, he challenged.

'Operation Kamala' is not an item on BJP agenda. Some legislators had wanted to join the party, duly embracing the party policies and principles, and they have been welcomed. The media projected these developments as 'Operation Kamala'. The party never claimed this to be 'Operation Kamala' anywhere, he argued.

The state Congress leadership is divided between various groups headed by Siddaramaiah, Dharam Singh, Veerappa Moily etc., Frustration of the leaders of that party is growing because of the achievements of the BJP-led state government. Some discrepancies that had crept up during the day-to-day administration, were brought up by the legislators to the attention of the government and the same would be set right soon. The process of appointing chairmen to the corporations and boards will continue. Party workers will be given priority and prominence in this process, he clarified.
