Mysore: Robbers Caught, Rs 52 Lac Recovered

Mysore, Sep 3: The Mysore crime branch police have succeeded in cracking a robbery case that occured in the city at midnight on August 2 this year. The complainants themselves were involved with robbery, the sleuths have discovered.

A group of four to five people had allegedly robbed G4S Security office by assaulting and injuring the security staff and gunman of the firm.  The policemen have now arrested five people including the gunman of the firm and recovered Rs 51,51,000 from them apart from gold ornaments, police commissioner Dr Parashivamurthy said in a press conference held on Monday, September 1.

The gunman Suresh and his accomplices P K Gopalaswamy (38), Jagadish (24), N Ravikumar (33) and Manukumar (45) have been arrested. The police said, that they will soon arrest an additional three persons involved with the robbery and recover cash and valuables from them.

The police said, that the main accused Suresh, working as guman in the company, wanted to settle scores with the security office in charge Vishakanta Murthy with regard to a difference of opinion on overtime payment.  The commissioner has announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each to the policemen involved with the investigations of the case.
