Mangalore, Sep 3: Following the recent attack on Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) by activists of  some Hindu outfits a few days ago, hospital authorities clarified their  side of the issue.

The authorities claimed that Anusha (16), a resident of Manjeshwar, Kerala, was brought to FMMCH, with a history of attempt to commit suicide by consuming kerosene, was first treated by a doctor at Akanksha Health Center, Hosangady. After the doctor indicated she required   further treatment, she was brought to FMMCH with a reference letter issued by him.

Anusha was admitted here around 1.15 pm on Sunday August 31, in the emergency ward and then was immediately shifted to the Acute Care Unit. Doctors, nurses, and hospital staff treated her with utmost care and tried their best to help her recover. However, on the same day, around 7.30 pm her health deteriorated and she collapsed. All attempts to save her life were in vain and Anusha breathed her last.

After her death, a group of people attacked the doctors, nurses and staff members, created havoc, used filthy language, damaged hospital property, and destroyed some of the patient's documents. A doctor was assaulted brutally with a chair is still under treatment.  Yet another doctor was injured and a pregnant nurse was hit on the head with a helmet by the miscreants.

As the mob turned unruly, the police were called in and the situation was brought under control. A case has been filed against the miscreants. FMMCH in-house assessment revealed that there was no negligence on the part of the doctors, nurses, and the hospital, with appropriate treatment provided at every stage of the patient’s care, said authorities.

Are the Miscreants Arrested. Can Daijiworld Update us on this issue on a regular Basis. Since the Govt. is Run by BJP and it is the Hindu Outfit (As Mentioned in your Report) that attacked the hospital, we need to know to what extent there is political interference. Has the Bishop of Mangalore Taken up this issue with the C.M. as this hospital is more than 100 years old and such an issue has happened in Modern Times.
