Udupi: Bus Driver Assaulted for Frivolous Reasons

Udupi, Sp 4: A few youth, said to be Bajrang Dal workers, assaulted a bus driver at Hejmadi near Padubidri on the night of Wednesday September 3, for frivolous reasons.

The youth targeted Ismail, a bus driver residing at S S Road, Hejmadi. Pandurang, Harish, Navin, Anant and Sudesh Shetty have been named as the assailants. It is said, the gang, pertaining to the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsav Committee being celebrated near the bus stand circle in Hejmadi, started a friction with the driver on trivial reasons and then assaulted him.

Injured Ismail has been admitted into a hospital here. Padubidri police have registered a case.

    Bus drivers in this region are very reckless. They even laugh and Bully bike iders. Incidents like these are well deserved to the drivers to put them back in place.

    If drivers owners association not protest no point in holding the membership of such union. I think in our districts even drivers unions are protesting accordingly on the basis of religion of driver.

    This bus drivers deserve it for the rash driving they are used to without caring for fellow road users. Please don't communalise the issue

    Mr.Dhruv, what you are telling is 100% correct. Now where are the Bus owners association? where is the police department?I think 2 weeks back for each and everything they made bund. Now Bajarang Dal workers hitt a Muslim bus driver they have not reacted at all.

    Now why the Bus owners association not calling for a strike and supporting their co worker and asking police to take action against the assaliants.The same incident happened couple of days aga and the bus association created a havoc now are they sleeping or they ..
