Mangalore: One-day NSS Camp Held at Aikala

Mangalore, Sep 5: The NSS unit of Pompeii College, Aikala, organized a day camp at the Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, near here. Students of the college worked hard to extend the school grounds, and planted saplings in the school compound. They also organized a public relations programe to help the locals.



Aikala panchayat president Yogish Kotian, panchayat members Sudhama Shetty, Jayanthi, former taluk panchayat president Rathnakar Pai, and school headmistress Chandravathi were present. Prof Patrick Menezes, principal, Pompeii College, inaugurated the camp. In his inaugural speech he said  that NSS was helping the students be of service to the needy people in society. Yogish Kotian praised the work done by NSS students of the college over the past few years.

NSS programe officer Dr Radahakrishna Bhat briefly introduced the aim of the organization. NSS student leader Levin Castsellino welcomed the guests. Sharanya proposed the vote of thanks and Peter Coutinho compered the programe.
